Bournemouth International Centre, Bournemouth

The BIC is currently undergoing an impressive £20 million expansion, redevelopment and refurbishment scheme, securing itself as one of the UK's most prestigious venues for conferences and exhibitions.

The plans, which are due for completion in Autumn 2005, include the launch of a brand new fourth hall, named the Solent Hall, which offers up to 1500m² of space and has a capacity of up to 3000.

The BIC's showpiece, the Windsor Hall, will be fully refurbished and expanded to an increased capacity of 4200 seated to 7200 seated/standing, with an additional 350m² space.

Newly refurbished reception and foyer areas will provide a warm welcome for everyone and the plans also give provision for an additional 1200m² of flexible car parking, exhibition and conference break out space.

The magnificent timber-domed Purbeck Hall is not affected by the development plans, but continues to offer 1800 square metres of uninterrupted exhibition space or seating for 1,700, its own seafront entrance with foyer and reception areas leading to a licensed bar and lounge.

The unique 723 square metres Tregonwell Hall seats 1,100 but can easily meet the needs of smaller groups of 300 people.

All four halls are inter-connected and can be video linked. For instance, one hall for conference, two for linked exhibitions and the fourth to provide either catering or entertainment facilities. Alternatively, all four auditoria are equally available for one event requiring parallel use. There are also break-out rooms throughout the Centre, accommodating groups up to 250 theatre-style.

With increased capacity, increased flexibility and improved facilities, the BIC is sure to remain a firm favourite with delegates and event organisers.
