The Cumberland Hotel

On the 10 th September we visited The Cumberland Hotel for a show around. Despite being 30 minutes late, Kelly Penfold, the Sales Manager, was still able to see us and had a very pleasant attitude.

All of the conference and meeting rooms were kept downstairs away from the accommodation side of the hotel. The layout was impressive with different areas colour coded to simplify navigation. An example of some room names:

- Green room 1, 2, 3

- Blue 1, 2, 3

- Aqua 1, 2, 3

The rooms didn’t have natural daylight. However, the lighting was designed to compensate for this. Each room was impressively modern and practical and the Carbon Bar (holds up to 450) is an ideal venue for Christmas Parties.

This luxury hotel has previously held the Television Awards and also boasts the flagship restaurant by Gary Rhodes (Ready Steady Cook). The key to the success for this hotel is its ability to think outside of the box. This, along with the attention to detail and impressive product knowledge/service makes this venue the success that it is.

At the end of the visit we were looked after and catered for by an experienced waiter who not only offered good food and a selection of drinks (complimentary), but also displayed good humour and a positive attitude.
