Luton Hoo
It is not often I am amazed by hotels these days but on arriving down the long drive and seeing a massively impressive site on one of the most beautiful and imposing old buildings that I have been fortunate enough to see, my trip to Luton Hoo was looking good already. I was hoping that inside would be equally as good, it did not disappoint.
The inside is vast, elegant and truly magnificent, with huge doors connecting the state rooms as large as ones I have only seen at Windsor Castle previously. Luton Hoo’s centre piece has to be its majestic staircase, located in the very centre of the old house a truly fairytale like space, full of light and height made out of white marble.
The employees and staff at Luton Hoo extended a warm yet relaxed welcome which was a refreshing change from some of the more ‘formal’ London 5 star properties.
For a conference at Luton Hoo you would not go far wrong either, with some stunning rooms ranging from modern to an old chapel that can be hired for conferences and drinks reception (A room that has to be seen to be believed).
Everything about the finish on the property is amazing with individually crafted curtain ties (each one individual), to beautifully furnished master suites retaining some of the old features such as an old safe that has never been opened that belonged to one of the houses illustrious owners.
The state rooms and areas including the private dining room we where lucky enough to eat in were on a very grand scale, with high ceilings and beautiful views out of the front of the property. Luton Hoo has an excellent and well known chef who provided us with some tasty delights on the night including my first ever taste of quail, which was fantastic. I am assured that for any events or private dinners that we place into Luton Hoo will be treated to quality to match in the food department.
I was so pleasantly surprised that such a gem sat on the outskirts of Luton town centre and can certainly now see where the extra money that you would pay (though still reasonable) for an event or private dinner at Luton Hoo would go. It is worth every penny and a must use venue for any executive or top level conference and event in the South East.
