Old Billingsgate, Square Meals Venue
On Wednesday 19th September 2007, my colleague Laura and I visited Old Billingsgate for the Square Meals Venues and Events '07. We arrived early and were given an exhibition guide along with a bag (to keep brochures in) and a badge to hang around our necks.
We started off with a stroll around the exhibition keeping an eye out for stalls that we particularly wanted to speak to.
Whilst walking around the exhibition we found ourselves being greeted by numerous stalls trying to sell their venue. It was nice to have everyone treat you like a king and we were offered a number of freebies in a bid to butter us up (chocolates, wine, cocktails, sushi, towels, mints, beer and canapés to name a few).
We bumped into a few familiar faces which I expected seeing as pretty much anyone who’s anyone in the venue/event/hotel business was there.
We attended several seminars:

- Hot Party Trends
These bite size (30 minute) seminars gave us a plethora of knowledge on the fast moving industry of venues
